Oh man, OUCH. Setsuna wanting affection so badly and being denied is sad enough, but Michiru getting it, enjoying it, and then having to lie is absolutely heartrending. Poor Hotaru will probably always remember how critics Michiru was, never knowing it was to benefit Haruka and not genuine. I can’t imagine the difficulties of raising a child that ages faster than a fucking weed, and I really like that you’re exploring the fact that it couldn’t possibly be grandly happy for three inexperienced
women to take on the burden of raising any kid, let alone THIS one. I
appreciate that it’s somewhat happy in that they are all trying for it
to be, but with that fine layer of sadness underneath borne from the
delicacy of the soap-bubble world they’ve built for themselves. This is
great stuff!                    

 Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I love the idea of the Outers Family as this almost sort of thing, it’s almost perfect, they’re almost happy, they almost made it. It’s such a tough circumstance when it comes down to it. I really like exploring the hardship and the joy together.

Aaaawwww poor Haruka! How she loved having a baby to take care of, and then that. That’s so unfair.
This is written so nice and so cute, and I can feel everything that poor woman goes through. Have I told you that I love your writing? I love it.

Thank you! I feel like in normal circumstances, Haruka would thrive as a parent, and even writing this hurt because all I want for Haruka is better self esteem and a good little family.
