I don’t know what is the Bachelorette but HOW DARES IT UPSET YOU

It’s a dating show, basically. I used to watch it with my mom and sister, and I remembered it as being very silly but still romantic. The basic concept is 25 women or men try to get one man or woman to fall in love with them. And each episode ends with the one man/woman giving roses to the people they want to continue getting to know. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE REALLY FUN TO WRITE HARUKA AT THE CENTER OF THIS, NOT KNOWING HOW TO HANDLE BEING PURSUED BY A BUNCH OF WOMEN, GENUINELY WANTING TO FIND LOVE AND HAVING BEEN COAXED INTO AUDITIONING AND PARTICIPATING BY MINA. I mean, roses right? That’s so HaruMichi!

Except it turns out my childhood memories aren’t quite true, the show isn’t silly or romantic at all. It’s kiiiiiiind of horrible, and cheesy not in a fun way, but in a way where you know everyone is taking themselves so seriously that there’s no enjoyment to be had.
