M/M OTP: Hm…I like reading romantic feelings into Touga/Saionji, but I don’t ship it per say… so let’s go with Chu Chu/the Frog he said goodbye to in the ending. I hope the frog one day breaks free of Ohtori and reunites with Chu Chu and they live happily with Utena and Anthy.
F/F OTP: Either Juri/Shiori once they get in better places with
themselves, or Juri/Wakaba or Juri/Nanami, once they’re older
Fav Female: Tie between Juri and Utena. Fav Male:Chu Chu I’m going to admit that I found Touga really interesting in my rewatch. I don’t like him as a person, but there’s something really sad (not quite sympathetic, but sad) at the end when he realizes Akio is bad and wants to save Utena, but the only way he knows how to try doing it is by replicating Akio’s behavior and trying to force Utena to be his girlfriend.
Least Fav Female: Kanae’s mom or the one lady teacher (I love all the girls a ridiculous amount) Least Fav Male: Akio
Why I joined the fandom: I’d seen a lot of people recommend the show, so I decided to try watching it. And it of course turned out to be a hugely important story and everyone’s takes on different things are always so interesting to read.
2. She grew up in a lively household as a result of having three active sisters. But she often felt overshadowed by them, and struggled to find her own identity.
3. Wakaba met Utena on their first day at Ohtori. And Wakaba admired Utena’s style right away.
4. She first developed a crush on Saionji because she saw how he struggled to win against Touga. She admired his determination, and herself in his struggle for his own identity. But she began to idolize him at some point, and put on the same pedestal as the other “special” people.
5. After Utena leaves Ohtori, Wakaba often finds herself doodling a pink haired girl in a boy’s uniform at the top of her notebooks.
6. She sometimes talks on friendly terms with Saionji, but no longer remembers why she had a crush on him.
7. Wakaba meets Utena and Anthy again after leaving Ohtori. They are all lifelong friends.
8. She’s very good at sewing, and would sometimes mend Utena’s uniform after it was torn in a duel.
9. She opens up her own flower shop after leaving Ohtori, and has great success with it.
10. During her time at Ohtori, Wakaba realises that she’s bisexual. She has a few relationships with both men and women, but later feels she doesn’t need a relationship to feel complete, and is perfectly content to live a single life.
Silly headcanon:
The student council duelists don’t take the stairs to the dueling arena. They parasail over from the student council patio; that’s why they’re always there before Utena regardless of who challenges who.
