A familial tattoo outing was my mom’s last Christmas present for my sister and I, mostly because she knew she’d never get one without us all there. She said watching me get this was worse than actually getting hers.
It did hurt a lot! But it was worth it. We all got roses in honor of our grandmother (well, my mom in honor of her mom), and I decided to make mine a tribute to Revolutionary Girl Utena as well since the series has become so important to me.Â
I feel weirdly happy/sexy whenever I put on a cami and can see my tattoo through it in the mirror.
So I did it! As soon as the title “Moon Pride” got announced, I knew I wanted my first tattoo to be something along these lines. Sailor Moon is such an important narrative to me, and I think “Moon Pride,” both as a song and a phrase, captures that perfectly.
I’m going to get my first tattoo today. I’ve wanted the words “Moon Pride” for a while now so I’m going to. I’m very nervous and excited. My sister is going with me so that it’s a little less intimidating (she has a few, plus her husband has gotten most of his at the shop we’re going to).
