I feel like I should post about the opening and transformation sequence, but hours after watching I still have nothing more coherent to say than “IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL I’M CRYING” so yeah.

Although I’m starting to have thoughts about the girls’ expressions in the opening shots, particularly how sad Minako and Ami look (it looks to me like Ami is actually crying, but I can’t tell if that’s just screen glare). All versions of SM have plenty of tear-fuel, but having those expressions in the opening, and having Usagi look like she’s praying (I can practically hear her begging the silver crystal to do something in that shot) make me wonder if Crystal will be going harder and faster at the tragedy angle than other versions have. 
Of course the rest of the opening makes it clear there will also be plenty of cuteness and badassery, so it’ll be exciting to see how they choose to balance the show.
