OH MAN OH MAN OKAY LET’S LOOK AT OUR SOL SENSHI OH MY GOD
First, we get this:

And then we have the interlude where the Inners sing standard Sailor War stuff, and the outers introduce their specific duties.
BUT THEN. We have the Outers together, singing different lines than the Inners.
The Inners are still singing about protecting Usagi:
The Outers, however, are singing about protecting *Earth*:

They know that their time together is temporary, none of them were meant for the life they’re living. Pluto must return to the time door, Saturn must once again turn to destruction, Uranus and Neptune must guard the far reaches of the system. But they have loved. They have loved each other, they have loved others, and they have loved this planet where they got to have these loves. They fight for that, much more than they fight for the princess.

I think it’s interesting to think of the Galactic System senshi paralleling the Solar System senshi in some ways (I love the idea that there were originally five or more Starlights), especially since this implies they have their own planets or stars. It’s hard because I know the word they use for star has a lot of the same background as our word star, and it doesn’t mean a literal star all of the time, but I LOVE the idea that they might be drawing power from stars instead of planets.
I think something interesting with the Sol senshi is that moons revolve around planets, but the planetary senshi’s duty revolves around the moon princess. It could be cool to me if the Starlights were born of stars, but revolved around a princess of a planet.
(There’s something interesting about power in there, too. I think the Starlights have more immediate flash! bang! boom! power, but the Sol senshi grow stronger and would end up stronger overall, especially if we count Usagi, and the difference between stars and planets as power sources and WHY DO I NOT HAVE AN INTRICATE NOVEL SERIES ABOUT DIFFERENT SENSHI POWERS AND SPECIFICALLY THE GALACTIC SYSTEM)

I love that you have the Princess’ protectors, just standing around letting her get her ass kicked. You think the Inners are still a little peeved at the singing thing earlier?

I love that she’s such a snob here and I love that it probably stems from defensiveness. I always wonder how many planets the starlights stopped on, how many other senshi they encountered, how many they befriended and how many they fought and how many they saw fall
You KNOW they could have showed up at any time during this whole fight but they CHOSE to wait for the most dramatic moment
