BERYL HAD CHECKMATE AND QUEEN SERENITY JUST FLIPPED THE WHOLE CHESSBOARD OVER.Imagine, if serenity just took out Metallia and left the kingdom in Beryl’s hands. Galaxia would’ve gotten her ass kicked immediately.
It’s honestly one of my favorite facts in canon. Beryl is one of the most successful and competent of all the series villains–even the second time around she was doing pretty well, she just got sloppy in her hatred against Usagi.
But, God. The Siege on the Moon was brilliant and no one gives her enough credit for it. I love both the canon where she was part of the Earth’s ruling family and the canon where she was a no body who rallied people on her own. Either way, Beryl was fucking brilliant, magic or no. The woman single handedly ambushed an entire KINGDOM a PLANET AWAY. SHE WAS IN SPACE WITH A VAST ARMY AND THEY DIDN’T SEE HER COMING UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE.
And not only did this human woman have enough and soldiers to destroy the Moon Army (because I will not be convinced the moon didn’t have any army), she had enough power to beat FOUR FUCKING GODDESSES. Everything was IN RUINS. THE HEIR TO THE THRONE WAS DEAD. IF SERENITY DIDN’T HAVE THE CRYSTAL, THE MOON WOULD HAVE BEEN HERS.
Once more, when Beryl woke up, she still had her army–an extremely powerful army.
Like this is nothing I’m making up; Beryl fucking did this and yeah, she might have had Metallica for power but there is no possible way you’re convincing me the siege of on the Moon wasn’t 100% all her victory. NO ONE SANS MAYBE GALAXIA DID WHAT FUCKING BERYL DID. The Black Moon kingdom was CLOSE but they fucking fell into shambles real fast. EVERYONE RECOGNIZE THE QUEEN.
If Beryl had gotten the Kingdom, no one would be able to beat her, holy shit.
