Rei is seething. Of course she should be worth the most! Especially over *men*. The people who made this feel a chill run down their spine.

Worth less than Mamoru, twice, in an insult for all the inners, but you can bet Rei and Minako are already breaking into the game design studio. Maybe Haruka is there also, crying because why did you but a tile between me and Michiru what are you trying to say??

MIMETE LOVES CATS

SHE LOVES EVERY KIND OF CAT

I saw it in a comics store YESTERDAY and I wanted it SO BAD even though I have no one to play Monopoly with

If I didn’t already have Pokemon monopoly, which I have played all of… twice? I think? I would be so tempted to go for this. THE GAME PIECES ARE REALLY PRETTY.

Michiru 8

8 – Dreams

Michiru’s dream is to be a concert violinist. A renowned artist. A high society lady. The soldier that stops the world’s destruction.

These dreams were given to her, another gift for a gifted child. The Kaiohs sought to ensure their daughter would want for nothing, after all. She would not be one of those flighty girls who wasted years figuring out what she wanted. They would tell her, and she would know.

Michiru takes these dreams as her own. They are good dreams, especially compared to the nightmares she sees when she closes her eyes. She likes painting, she likes performing. Of course she should dream of following these things as far as she can take them. Of course she should seek to be the best.

It is only when she reaches her first young years of adulthood that different dreams come to her, soft, secret, personal dreams. Dreams of a little cottage by the sea, where she wakes up to see the sunlight in Haruka’s hair every morning. Of weekly Tuesday tea with Rei, with no Senshi business to discuss, only their own secrets. Of a life unhindered by expectation. Dreams that make her soul ache, dreams that make her smile even as she cannot reach them.

Seiya 37

37 – Vengeance

Long after the war with Galaxia is over, Seiya learns the story of the Moon Kingdom, and the soldiers resurrected to avenge its fall. She learns of the princess, the girl she loves, who stood in the snow and struck down that which destroyed her former home.

And it haunts her.

Her home was destroyed. She faced Galaxia and did nothing.

The thing about vengeance is it requires hope. It requires belief that you can right the wrong, or kill the wrong, or even just make yourself feel better for a moment. Seiya never believed any of that for a second.

She believed she would die, if she faced Galaxia. In the end, she was prepared to. But she never tried for more than that. She watched as others died, as others made wild, long-shot attempts to defeat her.

Sometimes, she hates Haruka all the more for her stupid, suicidal gamble.

She hates that she wasn’t the one to try it.

She hates that when the moment came, she did not take up the sword, she did not dive in for the kill.

Seiya stays awake at night, knowing that she gave up. She can no longer call herself Fighter.

🔥🔥🔥Galaxiaaaa

Galaxia is most interesting as someone who started down her path to do good, to prove herself, to be the savior, but then as things started to go wrong she found the wrong so much more satisfying. Cruelty tastes so good on her tongue, others’ pain is so delicious in a way that their gratitude never was. She could never be the most good, the most pure, but she can still be the greatest, she can cause harm so vast that her name will live on for centuries, whispered in fear even in the furthest corners of the universe.

Having her ~controlled by chaos~ is a cop out. If she has to take it into herself, let her realize she can work with it, that she can use it. It is her tool, rather than the other way around.

This is beautiful and I absolutely love it, also a special thank you for making sure Usagi is noted as being chubby bc I have STRONG love for that! Favorite line is how Michiru recognizes that she and Haruka have in common their self loathing and makes a wry comment about it. How she isn’t shutting her out any more. This was such a great AU Sam!

Thank you so much!!! (I, too, have a lot of feelings re: chubby Usagi, and it was really fun to write her physicality at the end.)

Tell your wife I am ALSO unhappy because of this cliffhanger. I know it will end happily but I really hope that can happen without her getting shot in the head

*evil laughter*

No, actually I feel bad, so I’ve posted the next chapter already, which hopefully is less upsetting! (My wife is no longer threatening to divorce me, so I take that as a good sign)
