Side note, I discovered the magic of going to the gym and just walking on the treadmill or an hour or so(which I totally recommend, I tend to get really unhealthy attitudes about working out but also get really depressed if I don’t have movement) and I’m open to recommendations of things I can watch while I do that! I’d love to maybe specifically try a new anime if any of y’all have any you like (preferably that are on Netflix or Hulu), because they tend to make me feel energetic ahaha

Man I love how my health insurance options are:

-have no coverage and get fined

-pay a tenth of my total income and also the first $3000 of any medical attention I receive besides preventative screenings and immunizations

-pay a fifth of my income and have more exceptions to a smaller $1000 deductible

A college friend of my wife’s has been staying with us for his spring break and I fell like such an old grump, first because he’s two years younger than my wife, and so four years younger than me, and second because HE’S SUCH AN UNGRATEFUL CHILD OH MY GOD.

Like, I understand my wife and I haven’t been the best hosts, because of our jobs and my wife’s health, but he knew both of those were factors before he came. And we’ve been trying our best to keep him entertained while he gives us no help or suggestions to guide us, and we’ve paid for everything while he’s been here and he hasn’t even really thanked us? Even when we went to the mall yesterday and bought him stuff he didn’t actually say thank you. And he’s been super obnoxious about food, we’ve been trying to get what he wants and likes but again, he won’t really tell us, BUT THEN HE COMPLAINS ABOUT IT. I don’t know if it’s more frustrating when we cook for him (and tell him what we plan to make and ask if it’s okay) or go out (we tell him what we can about restaurants and he agrees to them).

And I reached my breaking point yesterday because he asked me to cut his hair while he’s here and I said yes without really thinking, and then he got super pushy about it and kept trying to get me to do it, and I did but like, haircuts are a thing you normally compensate people for? I wouldn’t want him to pay me, especially since I’ve only even cut my own hair and my wife’s, but being expected to do it for nothing when we’ve already paid for his every meal for nine days and are giving him a free place to stay bothers me.
