Oh buddy don’t be too hard on yourself. I have no idea where the inspiration comes from and why but from my questionable experience, if it comes, it COMES. and then you write for days without standing up from the chair and really NOTHING can stop you and so on (I remember I almost didn’t sleep and faked illness to skip the work). AND THEN IT GOES TO NOWHERE FOR QUITE A BIG TIME. No idea why. But I don’t think this can ever be your fault or something

  There was also a scheme that depicted how one’s skill improves and how they see this improvement, the point was that we usually see way ahead our own skill, our eyes learn faster than our hands, so if it seems you’re not moving it’s probably wrong, you are! Just your vision is moving a few steps faster and demands, say, the 6 level of skill when you have 5. And to the moment you have 5, it’s already on 7 and moving to 8. And yells at you ‘WHERE’S MY SEVEN’

oh gawd I feeL YOU SO MUCH. I found my stuff from some six years ago when I was cleaning the place up just a few hours ago… it’s shit with a tiny sprinkle of awesome. Then I looked at my current writing, and it’s overall better, but? Does it have? The sprinkle of awesome? IF IT DOES I CAN’T SEE IT FOR FUCK

I’m glad I’m not alone but I’m so sorry you have to feel this way too. There’s always a little part of me that worries that I’ll never get that little spark back, that it was caused by some magical combination of youth and naivete. WHICH IS BULLSHIT. But still. I BELIEVE WE’RE GOING TO SEE THE SPRINKLE OF AWESOME IN OUR CURRENT WORK AGAIN.
