YEAH EXACTLY. I understand not wanting to engage with it on the same level she did (esp. for ongoing series, I follow an author on here who doesn’t want to see fanfic incase an idea sticks, which is fair, I think), but I’ve never understood authors who are against fanfic. Both because how is it not THE COOLEST THING EVER that your work inspires someone else, and also because most written work takes things from other written works, so it’s all just a snobbery of the degree.Â
