Working on my final assignments for creative writing, and I’m way too close to crying because of how much I hate this class.

One of the assignments is a process note about the class and our writing and it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write because the professor is such a horrible person (both in terms of the beliefs she holds and her behavior towards students) that it’s hard to bullshit positivity for a good grade.

Ahiru, Fakir, Rue, Mytho – 17?

First off, the cuteness of imagining their karaoke night is making me smile a ridiculous amount. (And obviously, I’m going with english language music, just for familiarity sake.)

Okay, so I think Rue would be a little nervous about picking a song and singing, so I think Ahiru would offer to sing with her. She’d pick something cute, I’m thinking like Colbie Caillat’s “Bubbly” or Sara Bareilles’s “I Choose You,” something fun but also sincere that’ll make their boys blush (even though Ahiru and Rue are singing to each other (platonically) as much as they’re singing to Fakir and Mytho).

I initially thought of Mytho singing “Pieces of Me” as a joke, but now the idea won’t leave. I can easily see Mytho really liking pop, not it necessarily being his favorite, but definitely something he’d like and the sort of thing he’d pull out to have fun with everyone.

Fakir completely unironically sings “Welcome to the Black Parade.”

And then Ahiru really wants to do another “duet,” so she gets Mytho to sing “You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful” to Rue with her.

(Later, Fakir feels bad he’s the only one who didn’t sing a love song, so on the ride/walk/whatever home, he puts on “Wonderful Tonight” and flusteredly sings along and changes the lyrics to fit Ahiru.)
