Rei is seething. Of course she should be worth the most! Especially over *men*. The people who made this feel a chill run down their spine.

Worth less than Mamoru, twice, in an insult for all the inners, but you can bet Rei and Minako are already breaking into the game design studio. Maybe Haruka is there also, crying because why did you but a tile between me and Michiru what are you trying to say??

I saw it in a comics store YESTERDAY and I wanted it SO BAD even though I have no one to play Monopoly with

If I didn’t already have Pokemon monopoly, which I have played all of… twice? I think? I would be so tempted to go for this. THE GAME PIECES ARE REALLY PRETTY.

I’ve always like the idea of Chaos being more like that little whisper in the back of her head, not brainwashing, so much as pointing out what she’s already thinking: if people don’t listen to you, you should make them listen to you. You know best, why should you listen to anyone else. Etc, etc. Things she’s already thinking but won’t admit to, nudged and pointed out. Chaos isn’t bringing anything out that isn’t already there, it’s just making sure she can’t deny it anymore.

I LOVE THIS TAKE. She could still choose to ignore it, but she doesn’t want to. I want this for all the brainwashing plots (except honestly the Mamoru ones, because I think rather than it being a way to dodge his responsibility, it’s a way to show whatever bad guy taking him away from Usagi, and while it’s a bit overused, it doesn’t feel cheap to me).

Didn’t you say you were on good terms with your in-laws? Or am I mixing things up?

It’s a little complicated! Generally, we get on okay. My mother in law let us live with her for a few months while we sorted out moving, and generally they both like me pretty well. My father in law, though, can be very controlling, especially in regards to money, and he doesn’t really believe in mental health stuff. So it’s a hugely good thing he’s handing it over to us, even though he definitely did it to try and make us flounder and admit he should help make our decisions.

Ugh, I’m so sorry. I’m so glad you have the ability to say no to him.

Thanks Geeky! It’s one reason I’m really glad we moved, my wife is much better at standing up to him at a distance. And now he’ll have even less leverage!

(I have asked if I can tell him that we might as well get my wife on my cell phone plan instead of his now too, do it full measure, but for SOME reason, my wife thinks I’d be too sassy about it. I would be, but hey, he started it.)

YES this made me SO happy you have no idea. Michiru just blithely not considering that poor people don’t all have access to horses, but trying in her own way to make this bond. Haruka stubbornly trying to fake her way through it despite knowing she has no idea what she’s doing. I am SO GLAD you wrote this, it was adorable and hilairous

Thank you so much! I love the idea of Michiru just vastly underestimating what her background and Haruka’s MEAN, because until you face those differences, it’s all just like, oh sure, you didn’t have city money, but living in the country you get more for less, so are we really so different?
And I think that really, that they try to connect so hard means they will, even as they fumble, and they can learn so much from each other, I just love throwing them in AU’s so much and I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
