Why is it that when kids say things like “ewwww [opposite gender] are gross" or “I would never do that nasty sex stuff" or “I never want to have kids,“ adults ALWAYS have to be like “LOLZ YOU’LL CHANGE UR MIND” or “HAHAHA WE’LL SEE WHAT U SAY WHEN UR OLDER"
Why can’t they just be like “Okay!“ or “Some grown-ups like sex and/or babies and others don’t!” or “Some kids change their minds about this once they grow up and some don’t and that’s fine too!“
I was a child recently enough that I remember how infuriating and invalidating it felt to be told that my feelings, beliefs, and opinions were insignificant simply because they would probably change later.
