Rei, Sleep

God, Rei is such a I’LL SLEEP WHEN I’M DEAD person.
Especially once she’s older and being her full duty and career-oriented self,
she’s constantly running on too little sleep and too much caffeine. Any night
over six hours is hugely indulgent to her.
She doesn’t crash nearly as much as anyone expects her to (this is a
constant source of aggravation to Mina, who crashes HARD when she goes without
sleep for too long).

When she does sleep, she sleeps hard, and she doesn’t have
visions in dreams the same way Michiru does. She does talk in her sleep (which I’ve
headcanoned before
), and she’s 100% a sleep cuddler, much to her chagrin in the
morning. Mina alternates between taking the piss out of her for it and trying
to grab a few extra moments of tenderness by not saying anything.

YES SAM WRITING: Haruka, Love

Haruka has always classified herself as unlovable. With her
mother she was alternately an asset and a burden, but never a beloved child.
(She was absolutely the kid who dreamed her father was a good man who loved
her, but was kept away and one day would swoop in and make up for everything he’d
missed. Her mother was absolutely the woman who squashed that out of her.) Growing
up she never had friends that stuck around, both because many were fair-weather
friends and Haruka’s life rarely had fair weather for long, and because by
nature Haruka felt she had to hide things—her financial situation, her budding
lesbianism, the way girls’ clothes felt so wrong on her body. By the time she
meets Michiru, she can’t believe anyone would love her.

And Michiru doesn’t break that in her. Even as Haruka begins
to believe Michiru loves her, it’s so big and intense that sometimes Haruka
doesn’t feel like it’s about her. There’s desire and attraction and high stakes
and who wouldn’t fall in love when it
might be their last chance to.

It’s years later, in a bar with Mina, that Haruka gets the
tiniest inkling that she’s really worth something. The friendship between them
has developed into something comfortable and constant, and Haruka’s sure any
day now Mina will lose interest. But then she says something that makes Mina
laugh, and Mina sets down her drink and says “God, I love you buddy.” And
Haruka feels it down to her toes. She wants to ask if she means it, but doesn’t,
but it’s not the last time Mina says it and it’s not the last time Mina shows
it, and Haruka comes to the slow and quiet realization that if two people love
her, in two very different ways, that maybe it’s at least a little to do with
her, and she’s maybe not as broken as she’s always believed.

Senshi drunk head canons go

YESSSSSSSS

Usagi we’ve got some canon for, she goes from zero to incoherence REAL FAST. Probably she’s a v loving drunk, lots of hugs. Definitely the girl who won’t stop telling other girls how pretty they are.

Ami I think has two stages, Stage One, she’s quiet, even more than usual, and Stage Two is INFO DUMP. Mention a thing Ami likes and she will start discussing ALL THE DETAILS. Her normal barriers are just gone, she’ll talk forever. It’s probably actually super cute.

Rei probably uses being “drunk” as an excuse to give men a piece of her mind, but I think when alcohol actually hits her she mellows out a little. DEFINITELY she loosens up and dances, probably with moves so embarrassing every morning after is a race to delete any pictures Minako took.

Mako I think is a bit like Usagi when tipsy, but on rare occasions when she drinks enough to get truly drunk (IT TAKES A LOT), she FEELS EVERYTHING SO MUCH. The real danger with a drunk Mako is she will hug you and literally never let go, life is fleeting and she loves you so much, she just want you to know and to know you’re here

Minako, I agree with headcanons I’ve seen where she pretty much never gets drunk. She’s got a high tolerance, and that combines with her duty to mean N O P E. She’ll act drunk easily enough, anything for a fun time. But really drunk? She’s probably already fucked up, she’ll be cynical as hell.

Haruka goes very quiet. She wants to be manly and brood with her whisky. Actually she is holding back tears because she has remembered that episode of pokemon where Ash tries to let Pikachu live in the wild with its own kind and they say goodbye.

Michiru does not get drunk. No she does not. Do you know who her family is? Fuck her family. Have you seen her girlfriend? Say something bad about Haruka, she dares you. (Do not do that. just don’t)

Setsuna sticks with tea, thank you very much. Weird things have happened with the time stream when her judgment is clouded. Very weird things.

Ami and food headcanon

crunchbuttsteak:

So prismatic-bell likes to send me sweet MakoAmi ideas all the time and this headcanon about Ami and food grew out of that. This post is probably 50/50 me and Nina, so give her some love for this post as well.

Ami has issues with a lot of foods (either there’s a taste or texture there that Ami just can not deal with) and is a very selective eater, hence the sandwiches that she eats in canon.

So on one of their first dates Ami is horribly embarrassed because Mako made all this wonderful food but a lot of it is food she just cannot eat and she’s convinced that she’s really seriously offended Mako. But at the same time Mako is convinced Ami hates her.

And of course Ami never brought it up because if she DID, she’s used to people saying shit like “well have you tried THIS?” or “have you tried it this way?” and so on, and it just gets really tiring to have to explain that over and over again.

So then Mako finally asks Ami what happened, and Ami is not the straightforward type at all and is horrified to offend people. So, finally she pours her heart out to Usagi, who relays this information to Mako.

The next day at school Ami opens her desk and finds a cute little piece of stationery that says “write down some things you like,” and it’s clearly Mako’s stationery so she timidly goes to see Mako at lunch.

Mako’s just like “Hey, I can learn to cook just about anything, but it doesn’t do either of us any good if I don’t know what I should be feeding you,” and Ami mentions a rice dish she likes.

Next time they get together that’s what Mako puts on the table.

Headcanon time!

So in this shot we can see only Rei has a purse:

Later, Usagi is shown to keep the pen in her cleavage:

So then, where is Ami’s stuff? She doesn’t seem like she’d likely use her boobs as a pocket, and her dress doesn’t give her the same easy access as Usagi’s does anyway.

The obvious answer is that her stuff must be in Rei’s purse.

And that’s cute enough on it’s own, because that’s such a real detail (back in the days of school dances, I was always the friend with the purse holding everyone’s stuff).

But it also got me thinking: what if Ami and Rei got ready together?

Now, I don’t imagine Usagi would be very patient after she transformed. She’s ready and Rei and Ami look amazing anyway, why do you need to put on tights Rei chan we’re going to be late.

Yet Rei and Ami look very put together. I think after Usagi left the arcade, they sighed and agreed that no matter what Rei said about having a bad feeling, Usagi would end up going to the party. And they would go with her, because god knows Usagi cannot go alone.

So they stop by Ami’s apartment and she grabs an outfit; the closest thing she can find to a party dress is a simple blue oneshe wore last year to watch her mother receive an award for the advancement of medicine, but Rei promises it’s good enough. Then they head to the shrine and Rei picks a dress from the collection of ones her father sent her to wear for dinners with him (which she may or may not have attended) and lets Ami choose from the corresponding jewelry sets. They brush each others hair and awkwardly compliment how each other looks (because they’re beautiful, but neither is used to being opening about such things like Usagi is).

Usagi’s call comes right when they expect it. She doesn’t seem surprised when they show up already dressed to the nines, but maybe she’s just forgotten that they don’t have disguise pens. She slips tiaras into their hair (because of course Usagi has a little collection of tiaras, of course she does) and off they go.
