don’t listen to Doc, a sprinter does through two hours of warm-up to run for less than a minute.

Ā  in other news you’re doing good! keep it up! if you want to! I’m cheering you on

DON’T WORRY, the only sprinting I ever do is to make the light on crosswalks.

And THANK YOU šŸ˜€ Your encouragement means a lot!

You run as fast a mile as me! I have been running for a long time. (I am a very slow runner) You could probs be a REALLY fast runner.

Ahahaha I doubt I’ll ever be REALLY FAST but thank you! Ā I look up to you SO MUCH when you mention how far you run! My goal is to have that kind of endurance.Ā

And it feels kind of… mean? to say thank you for telling me I’m as fast as you, but I do want to thank you because I was always the kid in gym class who failed the fitness test because I ran the mile in like 12 minutes (and also… failed all the other parts of the test) so I kind of always conceive of myself as still being that much slower than everyone else. SO THANK YOU.

My best friend came over to run with me today, and it was so great because

a) it’s actually really fun to run with someone, I’ve gone to the gym with a buddy but I haven’t *ran* with someone in what we figured was six years, since he was the only person I ever ran with back home.Ā

b) he has a REAL smartphone, not an iPod that likes to pretend, and an ap that can track you as you run and tell you your pace, and since today’s c25k run was 10 min run, 3 walk, 10 run, he turned it on for the last 10, and our average pace was 8:21 for a mile! Which is not an outstanding time in general but for me!! It’s great!! (And we were a little faster on the first leg I think, but he didn’t think to turn the app on.) I’ve been a little worried this whole time I’ve been going slower than the program’s assumption of 10 minute miles. And even if I pushed a little more because he was there (which let’s be real, I didn’t do it consciously but I did definitely do it) I’m still definitely going a little faster. And that feels so good! (8 minute miles are generally my in-good-shape pace, the summer in highschool I ran every day that was where I got to, and when I was consistent about the gym in college I would hit that pace on the treadmill. Also I have never in my life managed to hit 7:30 or lower)

Today’s run was also my first time wearing shorts in public since I stopped shaving, and somehow the world didn’t end?? It’s absurd but that’s the one thing I still feel is a valid reason to boot me out of womanhood.

Day 2 of C25K done! I figure being self-congratulatory can only help. (Especially since these first days don’t feel as easy as I want them to. I’M BARELY RUNNING AND YET. But hey, I’m doing it.)

And now I’ll be catching up on replies and doing my last prompt and also FOOD. Definitely food.

Posting just to make it official to myself– I’ve started c25k. I’ve been wanting to for awhile, because I do like exercise and can’t afford a gym membership right now, but I get really self-conscious about exercising in public (not that my school gym wasn’t public, but I worked myself up to using it and not caring, and running on the sidewalk around my neighborhood feels much more exposed) but!! today I made myself do it!! And it feels good and I’m gonna make myself keep at it.Ā

Because no one ever said saving the world would be easy. Get ready to slay every witch and soldier of Darkness that stands in your way… and look fabulous while you do it, too!

After getting such awesome feedback from my Sports Anime Workout Routine, I decided to make another one – this time, inspired by the kickass magical girls of the anime world!

Just like before, you don’t need ANY equipment for this routine! No gym membership required – you don’t even have to leave your room or put on real-people pants. (Bless.) If you’re more advanced and want to bump it up a little, add some 5-15 lb. weights on some of the moves, but otherwise, all you need is your body!

Here’s how it works: Queue up all of these songs, whether it’s in iTunes, YouTube, SoundCloud, or another music player of your choice. Hit ā€œPlay.ā€ Your goal is to get through all of the designated exercises before the song is over. If you don’t make it, replay the song until you’re done! Then move on to the next one. Try to rest as little as possible between each exercise (and each song!) for the best results.

If you’re struggling and want to give up, keep pushing. It’s when you want to quit that the magic starts to happen. Believe in yourself and your own abilities. True power comes from within, after all!

PLAYLIST

Reblogging because I’ve been doing this, and it’s a hell of a workout. My plan was to do this until I figured out a gym membership, but this works more than my usual gym routine (and truthfully, I can’t do all of it yet! I have weak little arms, so I have to keep doing it to work up to the full arms section).

And just having the magical girl theme is really inspiring, so I recommend trying this out if you’re looking for a workout. (But be warned, unless you’re really fit, it’ll leave you sore.)
