And yeah, it saddens me, kinda, that parents teach very little kids
that a girl or woman that is not feminine is wrong and bad. I heard kids
as young as three asking their parents ‘this girl is ugly right dad?’
about me, and while YES I KNOW, I doubt that they meant my face or
figure, and it’s really disgusting that children who barely know how to
speak has already learnt that short haircut and ‘men’ clothes makes a
girl or a woman ugly and bad

I want to say I feel you on all the toy stuff, and also yes this! Nothing makes me sadder than hearing it from young kids, because I want them to be taught better. The worst time for me was one time a little girl was SCARED of me in line for the bathroom. My fragile feelings took a big hit

You know, I remember myself being tiny and BELIEVE ME SAM NO MATTER WHAT ASSHOLE PARENTS DO AND THINK, THERE ARE LITTLE GIRLS WHO WANT TO BE LIKE YOU AND THEIR LITTLE HEARTS JUMP WHEN THEY SEE YOU

THANK YOU SNUMPS THIS IS HONESTLY ONE OF THE THOUGHTS THAT KEEPS ME GOING. It’s one of my dearest hopes, especially working kids’ events, that little girls will see me and get a little more hope that looking like this is okay

WHY ‘BUT’? No honestly, one can live without dating very long, BELIEVE ME SAM (I actually think I would have lived until now if I wasn’t stupid enough to put my ass into things I’d better hve avoided, SOOOO)

This is all absolutely true! I just see Haruka as someone who wants to pursue romance/find a partner, so I think she’d TRY dating

I like to imagine Haruka as having her first kiss (and first anything else, really) with Michiru, no matter if they are teens or not… or, perhaps, the farthest she got with another girl being an awkward good-night-smooch after a date the girl initiated cause haruka would never dare to.

I LIKE THIS A LOT. It works well with the idea I have growing that Haruka might have trouble getting further than a second date. ESPECIALLY if there’s some expectation for Haruka to be the one making moves

THANKS ❤ ❤ I think maybe I really should, I’m ready to move on if we’re going to be just friends (I hate saying just friends, I am HAPPY to be her friend, but YOU KNOW)

ANY ADVICE? My main misgivings are worrying it might be too soon and a second thing I’m putting under a cut to hopefully not be read by anyone who knows me in real life

she’s actually a coworker (not in any departments I work in, but same store), and I’ve talked around that because another coworker follows me, and it feels weird to be hopeful about a crush to someone who knows her (although at this point there is zero chance they don’t know exactly who she is, there’s no way I posted about someone ELSE who got back from Europe that day so this doesn’t need to be under a cut BUT IT IS ANYWAY just in case) (hey there if you happen to read this by accident or whatever, you’re really cool I hope none of these posts have weirded you out)

but anyway sometimes I feel skeevy because we met at work and hitting on people at work is gross so idk if maybe I should actually drop it?

(it’s not against the rules to date coworkers, just people in your department (I think) or anyone you have authority over. we’ve had couples in the store before) (the issue is 100% a moral one because I don’t want her to be uncomfortable at work or anything.) (The other thing is she’s looking for a new job so maybe I should wait? but that would feel weird too, like pouncing the moment an obstacle is gone)

(ALSO. if any of you have been around and happen to remember random ass posts from September, she is in fact that coworker I had a crush on who’s first line to me was like “so I see you back there in nook all the time.” I deleted that post somewhere along the way but I have the emails from replies and i’ve really wanted to mention that in case anyone remembered)

Also I like reread your post like 5 times trying to comprehend why THE HELL Michiru suddenly decided to make fishing her next hobby because it’s so unlike Michiru maybe it was like Haruka’s fav activiy and Michiru was trying to bring them together AND OKAY IF SO WHAT DOES FISHERY HAVE TO DO WITH TYPES OF WOMEN

It’s an idiom! I used it without thinking, sorry. Fishing is trying to get specific information, usually indirectly (in this context, Michiru WANTS to know if Haruka might like her, but asks about what types of women she generally likes instead)

Pre-butch Sam spent a LOT of time trying to be like Mako (and Michiru)

I SPENT SO MUCH TIME IN CLAIRE’S (a Store in the US geared towards pre-teen girls, but a good place for anyone to get fairly cheap but good quality earrings) LOOKING FOR GOOD MAKO-ESQUE EARRINGS. 

And now I don’t wear earrings but I can never get rid of them

of course it was Minako and of course she talked to Michiru instead of Haruka

I find it so heartbreaking to think about how it would go if she tried talking to Haruka, because Haruka would believe SO HARD she could do it all, No Mina listen I will fight harder than ever and my baby’s gonna be safe and Usagi will be safe and it’ll be fine!

“Minako’s shoulders stiffened. Venus flashed deadly gold in her eyes.” OH SHIT. RUN. DROP EVERYTHING AND RUN. This is such a beautiful way to hammer home that Minako looks like a harmless airhead but probably has a plan to kill everyone she meets

THREATEN TO DROP YOUR DUTY ONE MORE TIME MICHIRU, LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS (it was really tempting to let this turn into Venus vs. Neptune, but I think they both value control and composure too much to strike the first blow)

“Loving someone who can’t defend themselves like we can would rip them apart.” that… is ruthlessly accurate

I see Haruka being a parent who worries too much in peacetime, she’d never rest with a war on. And she and Mako both would be DESTROYED if anything happened to a civilian they loved, especially if they had any inkling they might be the reason they were targeted (I mean we’ve seen that a little with Mako, I’m thinking of that one early R episode where her old friend got hurt and she was just like TAKE MY BLOOD TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU NEED WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SAVE HIM)

and the last section is made of concentrated pain and I love every word.
