SPARKLE SPARKLE IT’S HARUMICHI TIME!
I may be pretty busy over the next week so I’m posting this now: This is
my gift to my Sparklee, @sittingoverheredreaming! I hope you’ll enjoy this – I
know I had fun doing it! 🙂***
The prompt I chose was “HaruMichi on their first “real” date.” For me,
this first date would have to happen after the end of ‘S.’ They spent the whole
season flirting and skirting around each other, never taking it too far because
THE MISSION required their sole focus, but once they’re free from this
obligation they would let their relationship develop. I don’t see this
occurring on any ‘special’ occasion though, with one of them formally asking
the other out on a date; rather it would be a natural thing, with them spending
time together and things evolving organically from there.***
So this is set just after the ending of ‘S,’ with Haruka & Michiru
driving off into the sunset. They stop for the night in a little seaside town,
find a hotel, and then go for a stroll on the sea front.(Panel 1) They first stop in a bar, where they toast their newly found
freedom from THE MISSION and have a lovely time chatting about pretty much
anything NON senshi-related. There’s some awkwardness at first, as none of them
is sure about this new dynamic between them, but after a few beers/cocktails,
they start to relax and just enjoy each other’s company.(Panel 2) After the bar, they go for a walk on the pier, where there are
several carnival booths, arcade games and other tourist attractions. Haruka
has had enough beer in her system that, following an offhand comment from
Michiru suggesting that she likes a certain shawl offered as a prize in a
shooting gallery, Haruka resolves to win it for her. After what may or may not
be several attempts that may or may not have depleted all the money in her
wallet, Haruka turns out victorious and Michiru gets her shawl.(Panel 3) They continue their stroll and find a dancing area where some
band is playing. They soon proceed to impress the locals with their mad dancing
skills – or maybe they’re just goofing around. Whichever. They’re having a
blast and genuinely enjoying themselves.(Panel 4) After dancing for a while, they take a breather and find a
little out-of-the-way corner where they can do… whatever tender moonlit
lesbians do 😉***

(Panel 3) I gave Michiru
a hibiscus flower as a hair ornament just because I thought it looked nice and
went well with her black dress/red shawl. As an afterthought, out of curiosity,
I checked this flower’s symbolism and discovered it stood for passionate love,
and that in Tahiti, young women wear such a flower over their right ear when
they’re single, and their left ear when they’re in love/in a relationship. Tell
me that’s not perfect!
THIS IS AMAZING AND GORGEOUS AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I love the idea that after S they can finally get out of their own way and let it happen. AND I LOVE HARUKA BEING SO DETERMINED TO WIN THE SHAW, THIS IS A DIRECT ATTACK ON MY HEART. LOOK AT HER FACE SHE’S GONNA WIN NO MATTER HOW MANY TRIES IT TAKES. And the dancing is so cute and then the moonlight final panel is so so beautiful, I have so many feelings about these nerds.
