God, guys, I love my city so much

And it’s hit me tonight that I’m making it, I mean, my promotion doesn’t have me making huge amounts of money, but it’s enough. I don’t have to worry about having to leave. 

I was walking tonight, and this city is so, so beautiful at night. It’s the alternation between quiet and lively that gets me. The city is several worlds squeezed up against one another, and every few steps you’re somewhere new. I cried a little in the park tonight. The path from the street was dark, even with the lamps, the trees leaned in and the only thing in the quiet were a few couples kissing on the benches. But then this– the photo above. Around the fountain there was so much life and light and freedom. The whole city shines down Fifth Avenue. 

And it’s mine. I get to stay with it.
