Yeah, I think haruka wants to be the solider because she CRAVES goodness, she wants to be called a hero, she wants to know that she did good, in her heart. She wants to know she did what was right, even when it was hard, and that she’s not a bad person for it, and I think a lot of her bravery and strength comes out of wanting that, of wanting someone to tell her she did good.

I have nothing to add here I just agree so much.

At Haruka’s soul level, she’s more a mama bear than a soldier–she’s ready to fight and die, for people she loves, but there’s no prowl in her, no raw cunning.

YES

And I think this is true for Haruka more than anyone else, even Mako, who is the archetypal Mama Bear but who I see as falling in line when needed and having just a little bit of that edge.

And funnily enough I can see Haruka WANTING it more than the other girls. While there’s a lot of wishing for ordinary lives, I can so easily see Haruka wanting to be the perfect knight, and she really never can be.

Do you ever think about how while Haruka is a good fighter she’s a terrible soldier, all those instincts passed her by, and there’s probably a moment early on in her friendship with Minako when they have a sleepover and some noise jolts Minako awake. She’s on her guard ready to fight but Haruka stays peacefully asleep sprawled next to an empty pizza box and Mina finds herself tucking a blanket around her and hoping she’ll never change.

MY FUCKING FIANCÉE
she’s been staying with me for a few days, right? And she likes cooking for me, so she’s been making me meals. And there have been lots of leftovers. I thought she was just following a recipe for more people, but I HAVE JUST REALIZED SHE HAS BEEN DOING IT ON PURPOSE BECAUSE SHE KNOWS I NEVER COOK FOR MYSELF AND SHE WANTS ME TO HAVE GOOD FOOD

which stone is it?

Amethyst! It has a lot of personal relevance to both of us. My high school class ring is amethyst, even though it’s not my birthstone, and it’s always been one of my favorite gems. It’s even more important to her. AND IT JUST SUITS HER SO WELL. I never thought of stones suiting people, but all of the amethyst jewelry I’ve seen her in has looked so right (I bought her a cheap little pair of earrings once, and was blown away because they were so small they shouldn’t have looked like anything special but when she put them on it was magical)
