Seiya/Minako is one of those ships that I’m always kind of surprised to never see anyone go for, they’re honestly a pair I think about exploring now and again because in my personal canon their relationship would be a total minefield and an inevitable disaster, and it would be juicy and soapy and fun to dig into

  • It likely starts with a happenstance encounter at a bar, where Mina recognizes a wonderful opportunity to Piss Haruka Off
  • Seiya is always game to push Haruka’s buttons, and despite OSTENSIBLY considering herself hot stuff, certain hang ups have kept her off the dating market for a while
  • So at the beginning it’s at least 50% a joke that is supposed to maybe last a date or two, except things never go that cleanly
  • They’re in a way safe for each other. They know it won’t go anywhere and they have fun together. In a different life they’d be great friends-with-benefits or on and off partners, they don’t have to take ~feelings~ seriously, they can just be young people doing young people things
  • Except,  you know, they have the life they do, and there’s a certain princess that’s the elephant in the room
  • It would probably be fine if it was just that Seiya was in love with someone else. Minako probably is, too. I think Minako would probably prefer casual partners have other feelings. It’s insurance. She doesn’t have to worry about things getting too real that way
  • But it’s not just anyone, it’s Usagi
  • And that makes Minako bitter in ways she doesn’t like and won’t admit, because it’s always Usagi. Always Serenity.
  • By the time she’s conscious of it they’re tangled, in deeper than they ever should have gone and now there are dangerous desires
  • She wants, very badly, to be the one who breaks Seiya’s heart
  • She should cut and run, but fighting down your demons is easier said than done

Where Are You Finding These it’s hard enough to get short enough legs even in womenswear

I don’t know if you’re looking for an answer, but I’m answering just in case! Keep in mind that I can only speak from experience, and also that my experience is strictly American.

The two big things that help me find pants are 1) primarily shopping in young men’s/teen sections and stores, and 2) not fucking with anything that has a size label instead of a waist and inseam measurement. #2 is hugely helpful when you need one of the measurements in a less common size, because it’s much easier to glance through and see “Oh, 31 is the lowest number in this section, I’ll move on” than to try and figure out what s/m/l etc means for a particular item (there is still variation I find in how things fit with the numbers, but it’s better, it mostly has to do with the material rather than whatever dice roll other sizing goes by), AND pants that measure that way pretty much always have more sizes available.

For #1, I should also note that the more “fashionable” a store is, the more likely it is to have smaller sizes. This is more drastic for waist sizes, but it reflects in the inseam too. For example, Express runs a lot smaller than your typical JC Penny menswear (though don’t discount the boy’s section, for small stuff there can not only be great fits, but things like suit pieces can be much cheaper). If there’s an H&M near you, I’ve found their size range is really good without being as expensive.

And if you’re looking for women’s stuff too, I have less recent experience, but going for the measurements instead of size is something I started doing back when I did women’s wear, and it was just as helpful. It’s less common on women’s stuff, but if you can find stores or brands that do it, it’s game changing.

That short girls can’t wear men’s pants post bothers me for a few reasons but a big one is my wife is 5’0 on a good day and they look damn good in men’s pants so?? I don’t quite get it

@ short girls wearing men’s clothes, you look great

I’m dying laughing my workplace intended to have my first day as a permanent employee be yesterday and, of course, they missed that goal

But they also forgot to tell me anything about it. My boss called me in to apologize for the delay and I didn’t even know I’d been approved yet

Usagi stands before a mirror, winding her hair into odangos. Music rises and she begins to sing.

“Mom was the Sol system’s tyrant

Stole a child from each planet

Mom bound them all to protect me

She thought they’d be unbeatable

But Earth proved them defeatable

Mom gave us new life with the crystal

Put all my friends through living hell

All to ensure eternal legacy

Nothing last but Serenity

That is really quite upsetting

I’d rather think about …a wedding!”

I’ve been catching up with Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix and the latest season has this bittersweet sense that the show might close soon so it wants to say as much as it can. Like, Grey’s is soapy trash but it’s always been soapy trash that does its best to highlight things it can. It hasn’t always done the best but it has always done, and seeing it do more gives me a lot of feelings

I am 90% sure it’s impossible to exaggerate rich people, my trip with my father-in-law culminated in him telling me that he knew of a place you could get cheap gas, but— and he literally grimaced here— “you have to pump it yourself”

And I laughed in his face because ?? How is that not a joke???

I’m feeling weird today – AU where REI is the princess.

docholligay:

  • Rei is completely unsurprised, why is everyone not on their knees right now, excuse you.
  • Pride turns to a sinking feeling as she realizes there is more to this role than being adored. There is the knowledge that others will fight and die for you. People you love.
  • Rei does NOT have Usagi’s problem of inability to act–if anything, she is rash, she shoots first and asks questions later.
  • The energy between her and Mina, Venus, the commander, is palpable. And Rei is the princess, and can take what she wants.
  • This leads to deep conflicts between her and Usagi that are only intensified when Rei lets Michiru and Haruka kill Hotaru Tomoe.
  • Haruka spirals in the aftermath of that choice, always knowing she was bad, and tainted, but now she has the knowledge that she murdered a child, and even if it was the right choice, of course she was chosen, because she was bad enough to do it, and that is why she’s spent so much of her life running, so much of her life alone.
    • Michiru is rather unbothered by the whole incident, having made peace with the kind of person she knows herself to be, and the knowledge that someone has to be the bad guy, to save the world.
    • But it kills her to watch Haruka fraying.
    • There is no reconciliation or love between them, and Haruka pushes her further and further away, knowing she is unworthy of love. KNowing she could never be good.
  • Rei is the ruler Usagi could never be, and Galaxia does not run roughshod over this world, over Rei’s world, because Rei will never give up what is hers without a fight.
  • Haruka is lost in the fight with Galaxia. It’s the first time she knows peace, dying for her princess. Repaying the debt she owed Hotaru.
  • Michiru, who has never grown close with Rei, and who had no claim to Haruka but the call of her own heart, simply shuts herself up even tighter.
  • Crystal Tokyo comes with Venus at her side, more terrifying and fierce than ever, and with Usagi sitting at the bottom of the palace stairs, wishing Rei Hino would return.
