So I’ve been really on the fence on whether that one interview really confirms that the Black Moon Arc will be in Crystal. I’ve mostly been on the side of no, because everything so far has told us Crystal is only the Dark Kingdom arc.

But last night I had the thought that since the Moon Pride video has clear Crystal Tokyo imagery, and the ending card has the Cutie Moon Rod, the Black Moon Arc might really be included. And I have to admit I’m a little disappointed in that. I really wanted Crystal to be the middle ground between the manga and anime, with enough time to dig in to the characters without becoming the behemoth that the original anime is (I love the original anime, don’t get me wrong, but the first two seasons can be a chore to watch.) Plus it’s way cooler to have the Crystal Tokyo imagery present if that have nothing to do with this season. 

But I’m also kind of excited, because even in the extremely limited episode space Crystal has it’s making changes, and even though it’s largely following the manga it’s already becoming its own story. And to see the first arc flow seemlessly into the second in animation will be so cool (if they do the BM arc within the season, you have to figure they’ll introduce Chibs like in the manga, and can you imagine that closing the episode?) Plus if they do the BM arc, they’ll pretty much have to give us a new opening sequence, which I am totally here for. Aaaand The Black Moon Arc is probably my favorite manga arc (though I also really love the Dream Arc), so there’s that. 

Basically I have mixed feelings, so I’ll wait and see how they handle it, if they do actually go this route.
